Shelley Hack’s tempting rack burst onto the small screen as the replacement for Kate Jackson on the hit show Charlie’s Angels from 1979 to 1980. Though her time as an Angel was brief, Shelley’s heavenly body continued to appear on the boob tube throughout the ’80s and ’90s. She can count The Love Boat, Cutter to Houston, Jack and Mike, L.A. Law, and Tales from the Crypt among her small screen credits, as well as the made-for-TV movies Vanities (1981), Found Money (1983), and Bridesmaids, but not that Bridesmaids. This Bridesmaids, from 1989, has less star power than the 2011 film but a strikingly similar premise. Shelley’s fine features also made it into feature films, including the cinematic classics Annie Hall (1977) and The King of Comedy (1982) and the cult classics Troll (1986) and The Stepfather (1987). As far as skin-showing goes, Ms. Hack took a whack at the erotic-thriller genre with The Finishing Touch (1992) and gave late-night cable viewers the opportunity to give themselves the finishing touch. Unfortunately, the breathtaking bronze boobs on display in this flick are the property of Siv Petersen. It’s hard to forgive Shelley for using a body double considering that she never gave us the real thing. This lady with the luscious locks left the screen in 1997 and entered politics, becoming a voting registration and polling station supervisor in Bosnia-Herzegovina. For the last couple decades she’s been producing all kinds of films from presidential debates to Hallmark movies. If only she had left a mark on her skinematography…
